A very warm welcome – not just because of the fireplace

I’m sure many pubs were visited by us over the New Year. However, one freehouse impressed us with some innovative ideas. Not only their ideas, but also their hospitality. Despite the fact of turning up for a drink half an hour before their afternoon opening time, they opened their with a warm greeting and lit the fire whilst fetching some perfectly pulled Real Ale and a lovely glass of Sauvignon.

It was therefore no surprise seeing a notice outside this pub promoting a wine-tasting evening. Rather than dictate wines available to their customers they hold this wine-tasting evening for their regulars, who then decided which wines made the list.

Last year we spoke with 2,700 pub/bar customers across 10 different outlets about their drinking & dining habits as well as gaining thoughts and opinions on their pub/bar in order to provide benchmarking in the channel.
