Costa Express boosts coffee sales
Whitbread is moving into overdrive to expand its Costa Express self-service network and claims just one square metre of trading space to locate a Costa Express machine can produce an extra £40,000 per annum of extra income. David Sands Ltd has seen success with the Costa Express machine they recently installed; “we sell more coffee from the one store that we have Costa in than the other 28 put together” commented Ewen Chisholm, CEO at David Sands Ltd.
Hot beverages-to-go are a profitable category in themselves, but CTP also shows that 2-in-3 hot beverage shoppers will also buy at least one additional product, so there are incremental sales too.
