Same mission, different channel?

If you thought shoppers in supermarkets under 25,000 sq ft were on the same mission as shoppers in larger supermarket formats, then think again.

The latest insights from our Supermarket Tracking Programme indicate that actually shoppers in supermarkets under 25,000 sq ft are on a similar mission to those in convenience stores.  This means a one size fits all model cannot be applied and each products proposition needs to be tailored to each store format. Considerations need to be given to range, pack size, promotion and pricing strategy.

Him! has just spoken to over 4,200 supermarket shoppers at small, medium sized supermarkets between 3,000-25,000 sq ft at branches of Asda, Budgens, Mid Counties Co-operative, Midlands Co-operative, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Southern Co-operative, Tesco Metro, The Co-operative and Waitrose.
