Tesco experiencing lowest market share in 7 years

Tesco have not had the greatest time recently. Not only have they released profit warnings but they have now slipped to their lowest market share in 7 years.

Amongst some other major strategic decisions, they have stated that their intention is to focus less on out-of-town large supermarkets, and more on local & smaller stores. A few months ago, we spoke to c.5,000 shoppers at smaller, High Street based supermarkets, including Tesco Metro stores and again, this year we will speak to Tesco Express shoppers as part of the Convenience Tracking Programme.

We are keen to know how Tesco Express and Metro shoppers’ attitudes, behaviours and ratings of their store have changed on last year.
