Visibility at bar drives impulse in pubs
Visibility of a product whilst a customer is physically at the bar will have the biggest impact on driving impulse sales at pubs.
Still less than 1-in-20 customers will buy something on impulse at pubs, much lower than other retail environments.
Pub companies and suppliers need to work together to improve visibility and accessibility of products to maximise impulse sales. The pub is virtually the only retail environment which still puts a physical barrier (the bar) between the customer and the products it sells.
