Symbol retailers

Symbol Track is a new programme aimed to help suppliers get fast and business-critical information direct from symbol retailers.

The study consists of telephone interviews with the following symbol group retailers:

  • Londis
  • Costcutter
  • Spar (James Hall, Appleby Westward, CJ Lang, AF Blakemore)
  • Nisa
  • Premier

him! research & consulting will conduct 100 interviews with retailers from each symbol group. Benchmarking comes free.

Focus areas typically include:

  • If you were to launch a new product or variant, how many would be interested to buy it?
  • How many are aware of the core range in your categories?
  • Do your products or brands fit within the core range?
  • Would they like a price marked pack variant in your brand?
  • Did they see your trade marketing in the press? What were their impressions of it? Encourage them to buy?
  • Do they see your category as being a core growth driver in the coming 12 months?
  • Do they see your competitors in better light than they see you? Do they see your competitors (i.e. sales reps) more often than you?
  • Do they (the symbol retailers) think you are investing more in your brands now compared to a year ago?
  • Promotions – do they only buy your products when they're “on deal”?
