Retailers advised to pucker up for plump Valentine's sale

Convenience stores are being urged to embrace Valentine's Day after research revealed that almost 20% of shoppers plan to cook a special meal at home on Friday 14 February.

Stores that look beyond boxed chocolates and cards and invest in premium meal solutions could stand to profit, as 45% of shoppers say they are "likely or very likely" to trade up on Valentine's Day food and drinks, according to new research from HIM.
